The 8th edition of the International Junior Piano Competition ‘Brin d’herbe’ will take place from April 11 to 14, 2019. 24 candidates, including 11 female candidates and 13 male candidates aged between 6 and 18, have been selected, and 6 different nationalities will be represented.
The rounds of the competition will be split into 3 levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced level. 10 candidates will present Special Prizes (optional). In order to contribute to enrich the contemporary repertoire, an imposed work was commissioned to the young English composer Christian Mason: ‘Inner Landscapes’.
An international Jury has been nominated and will be composed of 5 personalities of the contemporary musical world:
-Andrew Zolinsky (Great Britain) – President of the Jury
-Dominique Boutel (France)
-Maria Isabella De Carli (Italy)
-Ralph van Raat (Netherlands)
-Michel Runtz (Switzerland)

The competition will take place at the Salle de l’Institut, 4 Place Sainte-Croix – Orléans.
The rounds will happen on : the April, 11, 12 and 13 starting at 2:00 PM.
These rounds will be followed by the Concert of the laureates and an Award Ceremony on Sunday, April 14, at 3:00 PM.
